UK frame firm Creative Eyewear is to distribute Bended by Robert La Roche, a collection of 8-base ophthalmic frames that combine high-tech design with 'sporty elegance'.
Wraparound technology used for state-of-the-art sunglasses has been merged with high quality design optical frames and ophthalmic lenses, said Robert La Roche, adding that the overall package has been developed in close co-operation with leading players in lens technology.
Creative Eyewear's Ian Silver together with Andy Heslop explained that the company had taken on a cross-section of the Robert La Roche and Prova collections which have received a very favourable response, together with advance interest in the Bended collection.
'Some of the models are very European. The acetates in particular are very stylish and combine great design with imaginative use of colour, ranging from traditional black and tortoiseshell to bright reds, blues and colour combinations,' said Silver. He added that 8-base styles were now becoming more popular and acceptable as an ophthalmic range. 'General interest is growing as more and more of the public become aware of the possibility of combining wraparound styles with performance prescription lenses and even prescription sunglass lenses. This, together with modern style and colouring, will really appeal to the younger wearer.'
As well as the acetate models within the Bended range, there are some metal designs with drilled sides, giving a 1980s 'Elvis' retro look.
The Prova collection he described as targeting the 20-40 year-old market, again featuring stylish metals and cleverly coloured acetates.
'Robert La Roche has really made an effort to hit the target for its selected market sector, and has succeeded with flair,' concluded Silver.
