Cues research explores false negatives

A study in Manchester explored false negatives in Cues

Researchers said Covid-19 Urgent Eyecare Service (Cues) was a clinically safe service and should continue to be commissioned after conducting research into possible false negatives in Manchester.

A study found a false negative rate of 0.23% for moderate to high risk of sight loss cases, which researchers said was reassuringly low within the context of a pandemic and use of telemedicine assessment methods.

Additionally, researchers said Cues compared favourably on false negatives with currently commissioned primary care services
