Vitamins and supplements are to come under stricter controls from August 1 this year following a European Court ruling.
Around 200 products across Europe are expected to be taken off the shelves following the ruling and only vitamins and ingredients from an approved list will be allowed for sale.
The ruling will also exclude extra strong doses of allowed products such as 1,000mg vitamin C tablets.
Other products taken off the shelves will be boron and sulphur. News of the ruling brought applause from consumer bodies but complaints from the health food lobby.
