D&A wins NTA award for a second year

Dollond & Aitchison has won recognition for the second year at the National Training Awards.

The multiple received the NTA regional training award for outstanding achievement in the West Midlands. According to NTA, D&A's training programme entry 'had a strong and appropriate design, based on clear aims and goals to enable the optometrist to become more commercially aware and customer focused'.

D&A said that through its training programmes it had gained accreditation from City & Guilds for being the only high-street optical brand to provide an NVQ in Optical Retailing for all its optical advisers. 'D&A offers a unique "Master class" programme, which develops talent with its optical adviser workforce to see them through into management positions in store, along with targeted training for senior field and support colleagues,' said a spokeswoman.
