Vision Care for Homeless People has appointed Dame Mary Perkins, founder of Specsavers, as a patron and she has pledged to encourage more of the multiple's staff to get involved with the charity's work

Vision Care for Homeless People has appointed Dame Mary Perkins, founder of Specsavers,  as a patron and she has pledged to encourage more of the multiple's staff to get involved with the charity's work.

On a visit to VCHP's Manchester centre last week she found out more about the charity whose work is already supported by Specsavers. ‘Vision Care for Homeless People provides a vital service for some of the most vulnerable people in society, who may not be able to access NHS eyecare services. I’m really looking forward to working with the charity more closely. Meeting the volunteers and the patients really brings home what a vital service this is for many vulnerable people. Many of the patients have suffered with poor eyesight for months or even years before they receiving help so this service can really improve their quality of life.'
