A BBC Radio 4 charity appeal for Vision Aid Overseas (VAO) will be delivered by Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse on October 4.
The appeal is designed to help children affected by poverty in Africa access the eye care and spectacles they need and will be repeated on World Sight Day on October 8.
VAO has provided eye health services to children in Ethiopia, Ghana, Sierra Leone and Zambia in order to help them reach their potential in school.
In the appeal, Mabuse discussed her own experiences with poor eye sight and also shared the story of Catherine, a school girl in Zambia who benefited from VAO’s work.
