David Pickwell

David Pickwell, author of the classic textbook Binocular Vision Anomalies, has died.

Pickwell was professor of optometry at Bradford University in the 1980s and had many roles within the profession, including being instrumental in the early days of the College of Optometrists.

A member of the GOC between 1979-83, Pickwell was also president of the British Optical Association and the Yorkshire Optical Society.

After retiring from optometry he was ordained as a Methodist Minister. His funeral will take place on Friday February 24 at 1.30pm at Allerton Methodist Church, Bradford.
