Deafblind UK was expanding its services for people impacted by Usher syndrome, including incorporating the Usher specialist team from the charity, Sense, to provide vital support.

Deafblind UK would continue to support those affected by all types of Usher syndrome, including providing education, communication techniques, support accessing services and opportunities to network and socialise.

People previously supported by the Sense Usher service would also gain access to a wide range specialist services provided by Deafblind UK, including counselling, support with technology and employment.

Nikki Morris, CEO of Deafblind UK, said: ‘We are delighted to welcome the Usher specialists to our team and the service users to our membership, we would like to extend a very warm welcome to both parties. This is a move that both Sense and Deafblind UK agree will provide the best possible specialist support for people impacted by all types of Usher syndrome.’
