Deafblind UK presents at international conference

Representatives from Deafblind UK will explore research findings at the 18th Deafblind International World Conference in Ottowa, Canada on July 22-28.

Nikki Morris, Deafblind UK CEO, said: ‘Research is key to our understanding deafblindness and our subsequent ability to support those affected by it. It is a significant part of Deafblind UK’s long-term strategy.

‘We are extremely proud to be part of this leading industry event and for the opportunity to discuss our research work internationally.’

Deafblind UK will deliver a workshop about the development of two courses to support local authorities in meeting statutory requirements.

It will also present research about how ‘higher or more complex’ needs are conceptualised by local authorities and who are considered qualified to assess these.
