Pennine Optical has announced details of a new joint venture with French eyewear producer Groupe TWC-L'Amy.

A new luxury designer brand division titled Couture Brands has been formed and will introduce the Kenzo, Cerruti 1881, Balmain and newly launched Bally ophthalmic and sunglass lines into the UK and Ireland.

The new division will be officially launched at Optrafair in April and Pennine Optical said it was in the process of a national recruitment drive for sales agents to complement its existing sales staff.

Pennine Optical chairman Peter Cowan said: 'We are extremely excited with this new joint venture partnership with TWC L'Amy, an international group with a growing portfolio of designer optical brands.'
