Senior optical assistants at Edmonds & Slatter received their qualifications after a year delay due to the pandemic.
Lucy Struthers, Natasha Cornish and Laura Green, were finally able to complete their Level 4 Senior Optical Assistant qualification, which was extended from two to three years.
As part of studies, they travelled to London’s University of Westminster and the Association of British Dispensing Opticians’ centre in Birmingham, while continuing their roles at different Edmonds and Slatter practices during the day.
This included modules on clinical support and management, optics, the eye and ocular supplements and optical skills in practice.
