New device from BIB Ophthalmic Instruments demonstrates blue light dangers to patients
The potential dangers surrounding exposure to parts of the blue light spectrum have been well documented and many lens manufacturers now include coating options to filter them out.
Demonstrating this process to patients could now be easier with the launch of the BlueSpec device from BIB Ophthalmic Instruments.
The unit attaches to an iPad or iPhone and is held over blue light sources to measure the amount that is emitted. A lens with a blue light coating is then placed between the device and the source to demonstrate the filtering properties of the coasting.
