Disability activist warns of dangers posed by dockless bikes blocking paths

Disability activists have warned of the dangers posed by dockless bikes blocking paths.

Deborah Persaud, who is registered blind and has a guide dog called Lewis, walks to work in London and often struggles to use pavements due to how dockless bikes are left after use.

Persaud cited incidents where there were three Jump bikes placed on the pavement in Dalston, leaving her and her dog unable to walk on it and two Lime bikes parked on the pavement in Highbury, which she had to ask someone to move for her.

She said: ‘Lewis has to navigate around them [and] we often end up having to walk onto the road. I have bumped into them a few times and that's with Lewis. He is about to retire, and I am absolutely terrified of using my white cane.’
