Disinfection works with the tear film

A Canadian contact lens disinfection system, called Panasept, is now being distributed by Ocular Solutions and Mid Optic in the UK.

The system, used in Canada for several years, has been awarded CE mark status for European distribution and is described as a low irritant disinfection system that works in harmony with the eye and its tear film.

The system delivers freshly made peroxide solution from a micro-filter solution dispenser. The 200ml purifier holds enough solution for over two weeks of daily use and has a 0.2 micron filter to maintain a barrier against all self-propagating micro-organisms. The purifier filters solution being dispensed and the air that is drawn back in to replace it.
