Distance learning BSc given the go-ahead

ABDO College has secured approval for its distance learning BSc (Hons) course in ophthalmic dispensing after receiving validation from Canterbury Christ Church University and approval from the General Optical Council.

ABDO College has secured approval for its distance learning BSc (Hons) course in ophthalmic dispensing after receiving validation from Canterbury Christ Church University and approval from the General Optical Council.

Students are able to enrol on the new course in the next academic year or continue from the College's foundation degree course. The news provides a timely boost to the profession following Anglia Ruskin's forced suspension of its own degree course in ophthalmic dispensing for next year (see page 6).

ABDO College principal Jo Underwood described the course validation as a significant milestone for ABDO College and the dispensing profession by bringing distance learning courses in line with mainstream UK education.
