Newark-based DO Dawn Lamb admitted to making false refunds totalling £1,933.80

Newark-based dispensing optician Dawn Lamb has been erased from the General Optical Council registers.

A fitness to practise committee found Lamb’s fitness to practise impaired by reason of misconduct in relation to processing false refunds totalling £1,933.80.

Lamb was dismissed by her employer for gross misconduct following an investigation and fully admitted to the allegations in a letter.

She processed seven false refund transactions to her personal accounts, amended customers’ telephone numbers to conceal the fraudulent activity, applied unauthorised discounts and provided a product free of charge.
