Future leaders of the dispensing profession need to be bold to stay in tune with the changing nature of optics and ABDO has to fight to remain at the forefront of optical education.
These were two of the key messages at the silver jubilee of the Association of British Dispensing Opticians, celebrated in the City last week.
Twenty five years of ABDO was marked at the Plaisterers Hall in the City of London with the biggest ever gathering of past presidents and officers of the organisation.
The guest of honour was HRH The Countess of Wessex in her capacity as the global ambassador for the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness and all the presidents of the 25 years of the body were in attendance.
