DoH voucher values in full

The Department of Health has announced the new optical voucher values, which have risen by 2 per cent. All these values are effective from April 1 2000. The values have been confirmed as:

Single vision A - &\#163;29.30, B - &\#163;44.50, C - &\#163;60.60, D - &\#163;136.90 - Bifocal E - &\#163;50.50, F - &\#163;64.30, G - &\#163;77.30, H - &\#163;150.50 - Hospital eye department I - &\#163;150.50, J (per lens) - &\#163;42.80. - Complex lens vouchers Single vision -&\#163;10.20, Bifocal - &\#163;25.90. The supplement to vouchers are as follows: - Prism P single vision - &\#163;6.10 per lens, P bifocal - &\#163;7 per lens. - Tint T - single vision &\#163;3.10 per lens, T - bifocal &\#163;3.60 per lens. - Photochromic Single vision - &\#163;3.10 per lens, Other lenses - &\#163;3.60 per lens. - Supplement for special facial characteristics (HES or NHS trust) - &\#163;48.20. Where the small frame supplement or special facial characteristics supplement applies, the amount payable for repair is: - &\#163;42.80 for the front - &\#163;23.20 for the side - &\#163;48.20 for the whole frame. Where more than one repair is made of an appliance, the total paid must not exceed the aggregate of the amounts for replacing two lenses in the above schedule, and repairs to the part of the frame must not exceed &\#163;11. - Replacement contact lenses: If only one of a pair of contact lenses is replaced, the voucher value is &\#163;42.80. These provisions only apply to clinically necessary contact lenses prescribed by the HES.
