Updated guidance for domiciliary eye care providers and practitioners has been published by the Domiciliary Eyecare Committee to meet the demands of the next stage of Covid-19.
It included advice for those involved in domiciliary pathways and what patients, carers and care homes could expect in terms of safety from providers.
Guidance emphasised the importance of regular eye care for patients who are unable to leave home as well as compliance with infection prevention measures.
Steve Clark, who led the review of the guidance, said: ‘It is vital that domiciliary patients can access regular eye care again so we can maximise their vision and quality of life and prevent impairment and lasting damage.’
