British audiologist Paula Cook has received the European Audiologist of the Year 2019 Award weeks after winning the title of United Kingdom Audiologist of the Year.
Cook, who works at Aston Hearing in Amersham, was nominated by her former client Heather Cooper, after she flew to Turkey where Cooper had retired to in order to fit her and her neighbour with hearing aids. Cooper was unable to travel to Cook for the fitting due to an incapacitating back injury.
Cook said: ‘It has been such an overwhelming experience, the congratulations and joy from colleagues, clients, family, friends and acquaintances has completely taken me by surprise.’
