Dr Lyndon Jones has been named director of the Centre for Contact Lens Research (CCLR) at the University of Waterloo (UW), succeeding Dr Desmond Fonn, the founding director of the centre, who is retiring.
An optometry graduate from the University of Wales in 1985, Dr Jones gained his PhD from Aston University in 1998 and holds three higher clinical awards from the College of Optometrists, as well as being a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a diplomate from its section on cornea and contact lenses. He has lectured extensively at conferences worldwide and authored over 200 refereed and professional papers.
