Duncan and Todd invests millions in lab

Duncan and Todd has marked its 50th anniversary with the acquisition of five practices and a multi-million pound investment in a new manufacturing lab.

Frances Rus, managing director at Duncan and Todd, said: ‘As we enter a new decade for Duncan and Todd, we have made a number of strategic acquisitions and have invested heavily in the new lab, which will increase our capacity to manufacture lenses for our branches and clients across the UK.’

Independents acquired by Duncan and Todd included: Eyewise Optometrists, Pitlochry Opticians, G A Henderson Optometrist and the Spectacle Company, as well as taking on patients from Gibson Opticians.
