Dunelm doubles lens production

Lens production has doubled at the Dunelm Optical lens laboratory over the past 12 months thanks to more than £300,000 of investment.

The laboratory was installed with the latest freeform surfacing and glazing equipment, making it one of the most advanced lens laboratories in Europe.

Dunelm Optical offers a one-stop service of frames and lenses which can be glazed and delivered complete, as well as a range of surfaced uncut lenses for opticians to use at in-house laboratories.

All lens orders are hand finished and go through a multi-stage quality check to guarantee accuracy.

Managing director Peter Beaumont said: ‘Our company is focused on providing the highest quality products with the best customer service. This additional investment allows us to provide an even higher level of service to independent opticians, with a 24 hour turnaround on frames and lenses in over 90% of cases.’
