Training for optometrists looking to offer enhanced services in East Yorkshire has been boosted by the donation of a new instrument.
Hull Royal Infirmary's new Clinical Skills Facility has been given a high power slit-lamp biomicroscope to demonstrate special diagnostic and monitoring techniques.
Optometrists in Hull and East Yorkshire can become accredited to provide an Ophthalmic Referral Refinement Service.
East Yorkshire Local Optical Committee (EYLOC) chairman Vivian Bush (pictured centre) said the scheme was currently funded by the local primary care trust but was expected to be adopted by clinical commissioning groups too.
