Edmonds & Slatter Opticians organises charity golf game

Edmonds & Slatter Opticians has organised its second charity golf game in aid of a local charity.

Named Matthew Needham’s Treasure Chest to honour a nine-year-old boy who died after heart surgery, his parents set up the charity in 2005 to raise funds for medical equipment for ill children and families in the local area for the children’s Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at Glenfield Hospital, Leicestershire, as well as gifts and days out.

Mr Saagar Hirani, pictured right, partner and optometrist at Edmonds & Slatter Opticians, started the golf day off with bacon cobs and coffee and golfers were being fined for a number of things with all money received going towards the charity. Two competitions also ran during the day, longest drive and closest to the pin.
