Submissions for this year's Optician Awards have increased by over a third on last year as entrants seek to win one of the most prized accolades in optics.
People, practices and products rushed to meet last weekend's extended deadline encouraged by perennial favourites, such as the Independent Practice of the Year, and new awards such as the Enhanced Practice Award and Family Optician of the Year.
Judging will now start in earnest with around 40 judges expected to attend the main judging day in early February and online judging in the product categories being sought in the run up to add to discussions on the main judging day.
