Essilor launches driving campaign

Eye health

Essilor has launched a national PR campaign to raise consumer awareness of the minimum eyesight standard for driving.

Think About Your Eyes will run throughout November and has the backing of petrol retailer Esso and Jackie McCord, whose 16-year-old daughter Cassie was killed by an elderly driver who had failed a police eye test. McCord forced the introduction of Cassie’s Law, which gives police greater powers to ensure that those with impaired sight have their licences revoked.

‘The key message is that a regular eye exam can reassure consumers that their vision meets the minimum DVLA requirements,’ said an Essilor spokesperson.
