​A recent cyber-attack on Essilor temporarily disrupted access to the group’s servers

A recent cyber-attack on Essilor temporarily disrupted access to the group’s servers and personal computers, the company has confirmed.

Essilor said no data leak had been identified to date and the affected servers were promptly isolated.

Tim Precious, managing director of Essilor Ltd, said: ‘We can confirm that we were the victim of a cyber attack, but it was dealt with swiftly by Essilor Group IT teams and external experts. No data leaks have been identified, with affected servers isolated and new patches and firewalls installed. This allowed us to progressively recover our system’s capability, with orders received as normal shortly after.’
