EssilorLuxottica hit €5.6bn profits in 2022 first quarter

The results showed year-on-year increase of 38%

EssilorLuxottica announced it has achieved a year-on-year increase of 38% for the first quarter of 2022, with consolidated revenue hitting €5.6bn.

While all regions have performed well, the best business activity has been across EMEA and Latin America which grew to double digits, with major performance from UK, Germany and Spain.

Latin America rebounded compared to the 2021 first quarter as a result of lowered pandemic restrictions, with Brazil and Mexico rising to double digits. RayBan, Oakley and other luxury brands drove the growth of frames and the company’s branded lenses pushed the performance in the optical category, according to EssilorLuxottica.
