The Department of Health has announced a 2.5 per cent rise in GOS fees, giving a sight test fee of £18.85, backdated to April 1 2006.
Domiciliary fees are £33.19 for each of the first and second patients seen at one visit and £8.31 for each of the third and subsequent patients seen at that visit. The CET allowance for 2006 is £463, to be claimed in 2007, and the pre-reg trainer grant for 2006/7 is £2,665.
Chairman of the Optometric Fees Review Committee, Robin Banks said that this year's fee negotiations had taken place against the 'most difficult background any OFRC member can remember'.
