Eye competition engages community

Independent hosted a competition as part of its MacMillan coffee morning

Derbyshire-based practice, Elliott & Heath Optometrists, hosted a public competition as part of its MacMillan Coffee Morning on September 30.

Following refurbished shop fits, investments in staff training and equipment, the community event aimed to build relationships and reflect the practice's change from traditional to forward-thinking and technological. So far, it has raised £300 for charity.

Images taken with the digital slit lamp and printed on canvas were used in a competition challenging patients to match the eyes to the member of staff.

Patients were invited to join for refreshments and could receive a photo of their own eye for a donation. Anterior eye images were taken on the Righton Slit Lamp supplied by BIB. The event was supported by Bausch + Lomb, Hoya, Wolf Eyewear and BiB, with representatives in attendance.
