Eye Health Week in the media spotlight

National Eye Health Week 2012 won strong exposure in the mainstream media last week.

The campaign, which took place from September 17-23, featured on both morning ITV breakfast programme Daybreak and BBC Radio Two's Jeremy Vine show.

Appearing on Daybreak was Anita Lightstone, programme director of UK Vision Strategy, together with young patient Mia Brown and her mother.

The patient had been referred by optometrist Cathy Tripp of CATS Opticians, Cheshire, after an eye check identified a swelling of the optic nerve that turned out to be an arachnoid cyst. 'I don't know what would have happened if I'd left it,' Brown said.
