Prescription house Eye Index has installed a Mr Blue edging machine from Essilor, which can carry out all types of edging, support rimless glazing with automated hole recognition and work on supras and high base wraps.
Eye Index said that one of its special features was the milling function which enabled technicians to be more precise when cutting AR coated lenses, which often have slippery surfaces and can drag when cut on conventional edgers.
On the installation, Eye Index manufacturing director, Andrew Kennedy (left) said: 'Our edging department now has more flexibility and back up for all types of jobs, but especially for specialised wraps and rimless frames.'
