A 23-year-old has been recovering from multiple surgeries after a golf ball sized brain tumour was discovered at her eye test.
Rhiannan Harris was suffering with headaches and realised she could see better when wearing her sunglasses instead of her prescription glasses. She went for an eye test at Vision Express in Kettering, Northampton, where optometrist Pardeep Chohan found a swollen optic nerve. Harris was referred to hospital, where a benign brain tumour was discovered. She then underwent six surgical procedures to remove the tumour.
Chohan said: ‘Rhiannan’s experience proves just how important it is to seek professional care if you notice any change in your sight. Any irritation, black dots, flashing lights, pain or pressure must be explored for any early diagnoses to be made and effective treatments to be put in place.’
