Scotland's flagship optical event has reported a 6 per cent rise in delegate numbers this year and staged a peer review session for the first time.

Eyecare 3000 in Glasgow attracted 224 delegates, compared to 211 last year, despite heavy snowfall during the January event.

Organisers said an inaugural peer review meeting was well-received, with 95 per cent of delegates rating it as excellent or good.

'Eyecare 3000 Glasgow 2013 was another successful event, receiving excellent delegate feedback. Delegate numbers rose again this year despite the snow,' said project manager Susan Marshall.

Speakers in the main programme included Dr Trevor Crawford (pictured) who made a presentation entitled 'Eye Gaze: A New Tool in the Diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease?' The dates for next year's Eyecare 300 have been set for January 19 and 20.
