Eyeplan will launch a training service at Independents Day but told Optician it welcomed the arrival of new care plan provider VSP.
The company said its new Accelerator Programme was free to practices already signed up to monthly schemes. It consisted of a mixture of training, performance monitoring, and a post programme review and report, with weekly online coaching sessions also available.
Eyeplan commercial director Chris Clemence said: ‘Eyeplan gives independent practices the security of a regular monthly income and helps to lock in patient loyalty. We are keen to see our associates reaping the full benefits of our services.
‘Our Accelerator Programme has been designed for those associates that feel they have more to achieve from Eyeplan and we would be delighted to hear from practices that wish to reactivate and give their membership numbers a boost.’
Clemence said the new scheme was not a bid to fend off competition from the new VSP Neighbourhood Eyecare scheme, which has been launched in partnership with the AOP and National Eyecare Group and also due at Independents Day.
He added that the VSP scheme would not compete directly with Eyeplan as it was mainly focused on corporate eye plans available across a range of practice locations.
‘Our scheme is much more about loyalty to individual optical practices,’ he added. ‘We would look to recommend our eye care associates to join them [VSP] as well as Eyeplan.’
