Edinburgh’s Dynamic Earth environmental science centre and planetarium will play host to Optician’s inaugural Eyes On Sustainability conference on November 5 and 6, 2023.
The event, which forms part of Optician’s Eyes on Sustainability editorial initiative, will bring together experts and thought leaders across four streams of content that will include contact lenses, eyewear, ophthalmic lenses and retail optics.
Each stream will comprise a 90-minute mix of presentations and audience participation in the form of Q&As and knowledge sharing. Expect to hear from contact lens manufacturers about how they are dealing with plastic waste and material producers such as Eastman Chemicals, which is revolutionising the way acetate is made. The full list of speakers will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
A networking event and presentations will be held on the evening of Sunday, November 5 ahead of the full conference on Monday, November 6. Both parts of the conference will be held at Dynamic Earth, selected because of its remit for providing education on the world around us, ‘from beginning to mend’.
