Eyewear brand makes research donation

Cambridge Spectacle Co will donate 10% of profits to research into eye disease

UK eyewear brand Cambridge Spectacle Co. has agreed to donate 10% of profits towards St. Paul’s Research Foundation to fight eye disease, including for its Eye Unit and the Clinical Eye Research Centre.
Tom Southern, director of fundraising at St Paul's Eye Research Foundation, commented: ‘The support of Cambridge Spectacle Co. comes at an important time for us as we recover our position after a very difficult two years by launching our new appeal later this year that will change the way we detect, diagnose and treat eye disease for the next 10 to 20 years.’
Ahmed Ejaz, chief executive at Cambridge Spectacle Co., said the company was pleased to play a part in helping develop world-class research and highlighted the ongoing difficulties charities in the sector have in finding funding.
