Giant German opticians Fielmann aims to open in the Netherlands with 45 outlets, it was reported this week, rivaling Specsavers' interests there. In an interview with Capital magazine (July 7) chief executive Guenther Fielmann said the company planned to raise full year pre-tax profits to Û100m - from last year's Û56m - in the next five years by opening 100 outlets in Germany.
Fielmann also plans to open 70 more stores in Switzerland and Austria.
