Fight for Sight and Diabetes UK have joined forces to call for applications for a jointly funded award.
With research suggesting that people with diabetes are at a higher risk of developing cataract, the two organisations have agreed to work together for the first time to fund research in this area.
Fight for Sight CEO, Michele Acton, said: ‘We are delighted to establish this partnership with Diabetes UK to extend the impact of research by funding novel and vital ophthalmic research into sight loss caused by diabetes.’
The new partnership is currently calling for applications for the Fight for Sight / Diabetes UK Small Grant Award for research into visual impairment associated with diabetes.
