Supporter of Fight for Sight and mother-of-three Emma Salisbury has been presented with the Tesco Mum of the Year Award at an annual event in London.
Salisbury collected the award from presenters Fearne Cotton (left) and Sara Cox (right) at The Savoy hotel earlier this month. Her son was diagnosed with the eye condition choroideremia aged five, prompting her to set up the Tommy Salisbury Choroideremia Fund in 2005.
She said: ‘I was humbled to have even been nominated but to have actually won an award is incredibly over-whelming. I wanted to thank all the supporters, friends and my family, with a special thanks to my mum, who’ve helped to fund vital research into the condition through Fight for Sight.’
