First prize winner in Optrafair compeition

Commercial concept: Royal College of Art student Claire Zeng won first prize in the Federation of Manufacturing Opticians' frame design competition held at Optrafair. Zeng said her sunglass design was inspired by the colours of the Arizona desert. Over 20 entrants from the Royal College of Art had been briefed on the construction of spectacles, materials and commercial factors before submitting their entries. Prototypes were made by Premiere Optical Services and were judged on commercial realism. Zeng is pictured with third place winner Daniel Pollitt.
