Fleye Copenhagen: Danish heritage

Fleye Copenhagen has released its Elements of Art eyewear collection, with frames available in acetate, carbon wood and beta-titanium. Each material forms a sub-collection of frames that draw on Danish art.

The acetate collection takes inspiration from the Danish Thorvaldsens Museum, which was built to house the sculptures of Bertel Thorvaldsens. Brightly coloured walls, decorated ceilings and mosaic floors provide the details, with frames like the hexagonal Anne and the elegantly cat-eyed Marianna utilising bold, patterned colours.

Handcrafted combinations of carbon and wood also take inspiration from Thorvaldsens, making use of the sleek material for frames like Kerry, a clean, minimalist frame with rounded edges and a keyhole bridge. The material consists of 23 layers of carbon fibre and one layer of wood, leading to lightweight but robust frames.
