Danish eyewear manufacturer Fleye has won a Red Dot Design Award for the new nose pad design found on its Troll frame.
Fleye said the experience of designing an adjustable nose bridge on acetate frames, which traditionally have fixed nose bridges and sizes, was challenging, but said the solution was found in a single piece of flexible beta titanium thread that loops through the nose bridge. 'Not only is this strong and durable because of the material and the single-piece solution, it also integrates the nose pad arms with the overall design of the eyewear,' said a Fleye statement.
