David Moore has been appointed chairman of the Federation of Manufacturing Opticians replacing Ruth Gans Cole who resigned earlier this month (News January 17).
Mr Moore, director of Pentax Vision Europe, was previously the vice chairman and a replacement for the now vacant vice chair will be made shortly.
Former chair Kingsley Sleep was co-opted back onto the board of directors by a meeting of FMO councillors last Friday.
The FMO will move into its new offices at 199 Gloucester Terrace, London along with the Association of British Dispensing Opticians and the Federation of Ophthalmic and Dispensing Opticians on February 5.
The first floor of the building will be occupied by FODO and ABDO while the second floor will be home to the FMO. The ground floor will house the reception area and IT offices, and the lower ground floor will used as a boardroom.
