This week the FMO welcomed representatives from across optics to celebrate its Centenary Year at an event in London.
Guests including FMO members, past chairs and other optical bodies gathered at the Weston Pavilion at the Southbank Centre on Tuesday evening.
They celebrated 100 years to the day that the FMO’s predecessor body, the Association of Wholesale and Manufacturing Opticians, signed its constitution.
John Street, chairman of FMO from 1984-1986, Lynda Oliver, chair of the Confederation, and FMO chair Andy Yorke were all welcomed to the stage by main host Bryony Pawinska, the FMO’s CEO.
Yorke provided more details about the 2020 Vision conference, a joint education event to be held alongside Optrafair, at the NEC from 4-6 April 2020. It was designed to bring together all the sector’s major CET providers to mark the 2020 occasion.
