A series of animations have been launched by the Federation of Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians (Fodo) to help eye care professionals explain and promote their role.
Shorter animations highlighted the benefits of enhanced eye care services while longer animations show how primary care can meet population needs, prevent sight loss and take pressure off GPs and hospitals.
Free to download, the animations were tailored regionally with animations available for England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, including a version translated into welsh.
Ahead of the election, Fodo has also published several position statements about how NHS delays are leading to sight loss, the need for better digital connectivity and patients’ right to choose a provider.
