Optrafair has bolstered its existing industry support and reputation as the UK’s leading optical exhibition with the announcement that the Federation of Ophthalmic and Dispensing Opticians (FODO) is to be an association partner of the event taking place at the Birmingham NEC (April 18-20 2015).

David Hewlett, FODO Chief Executive said: ‘FODO is proud to once again support Optrafair, the main trade fair for the optical sector. It is a great honour to become an association partner of the event and we look forward to working with the Optrafair team in every way we can.

‘We hope to see all FODO members at Optrafair – from individual practitioners and independents to small businesses and larger groups, and from across the UK and the Republic of Ireland.

‘This event is a great opportunity to mix with clinicians, manufacturers and business owners and find out about the issues that are important to them. We encourage members and non-members alike to visit our stand – to meet us in person, to pick our brains and swap views on policy, business, employment or regulatory issues – and to participate in the exhibits and CET sessions and buy and recruit as in previous years.

‘For us this is a chance to find out more about the new trends shaping the profession. But more importantly, with big structural changes taking place at the top of primary care this year, we are keen to speak to the optical front line about how they see the future of the sector.

‘FODO Guide dog Elvis will also be there to bring his own brand of hospitality for children, plus a free prize draw.’

Optrafair Director Malcolm Polley added: ‘We are delighted that FODO has placed such confidence in Optrafair as the leading trade show and the one to support. We look forward to welcoming all its members.’
