FODO provides coronavirus guidance

The Federation has highlighted that the safety of patients and staff is practitioners’ main priority

The Federation of Ophthalmic and Dispensing Opticians (FODO) has highlighted that the safety of patients and staff is practitioners’ main priority in a coronavirus update.

It directed members to follow the latest advice from health authorities, the College of Optometrists, the General Optical Council and the Royal College of Ophthalmology.

FODO acknowledged that eye care providers were struggling with what support was being offered by the government and provided an overview of the job retention scheme, deferring VAT payments and sick pay.

Members can contact FODO for a one-to-one discussion around designating key workers and supporting roles, social distancing and public health advice.
