FODO ready for ‘choppy waters’

FODO chair says cooperation is 'vital' to protect eye care services in the future

Cooperation was described as ‘vital’ if the sector wanted to protect eye care services in future by Federation of Ophthalmic and Dispensing Opticians (FODO) chair Lynda Oliver at the organisation’s recent AGM.

Oliver outlined how FODO remained committed to standing up for eye health and ensuring services were protected and enhanced during the next wave of NHS reforms and the ‘choppy waters’ which lay ahead for the sector.

To help achieve this, the organisation will transition to a new operating model and scale up its strategic work.

Harjit Sandhu, FODO managing director, said that the organisation was now looking at new and sustainable ways of meeting increasing eye health needs in the UK and Ireland.
